FMA’s Goal

FMA’s focus for the immediate future is to educate, mentor, coach, and tutor young adults. FMA aims to help each participant create a viable financial, career, and educational plan to achieve world-changing goals. FMA’s goal is to educate young adults early so they can skillfully navigate their financial futures with confidence and purpose and share that knowledge with friends and family. It all begins with one individual to initiate a ripple effect.

Changing the world for good is never easy. It will take time. We hope that a deep friendship will form between the student and an FMA volunteer that will last a lifetime.

Mentor Duties and Responsibilities

Volunteer mentors will provide student guidance on the following:

  • Financial Coaching
  • Benefit Selection
  • Career Choices
  • Funding Postsecondary Education
  • Selection of Postsecondary Education
  • Resume review

Qualifications

  • Established professional driven by the desire to make a positive impact on the world!
  • Must be passionate about helping young adults plan for their next steps in the following areas: Career selection, Post Secondary Education Selection, and Personal Financial Literacy.
  • Patience is essential for providing guidance to help young adults embark on the right path.
  • Strong communication skills and active listening skills.
  • Be able to work remotely and use Zoom/phone calls.
  • Willingness to commit to complete formal mentor training and onboarding materials

Are you or do you know someone between the ages of 16 and 26 who has an excellent work ethic, is intelligent, and has an unrelenting desire to change the world for the better? Then, we invite you to become one of our volunteers or mentors!
