FMA Founder Kenneth Lee Decker

Kenneth Lee Decker (1946-2020)

Ken Decker and Lorraine Decker, his wife, co-founded two non-profits in 2003: Financial Mentors of America and Skills For Living. Both organizations are dedicated to teaching families how to plan and create amazing futures. Every summer, Ken would organize and emcee the Game of Real Life, a three week event held at Rice, University of Houston and the George R. Brown Convention Center to help 1,200 under-served high school students visualize a dynamic future. Hundreds of volunteers joined Ken to play the Game

In 2017, as President of Decker & Associates, Ken, a CPA-PFS, CFP, published Real Life Financial Mathematics, and worked with 50+ Texas school districts to train teachers on the new curriculum. More than 12,000 Texas high school students have taken this one-year, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and life-changing financial planning course. A celebration of Ken’s incredible life will be scheduled at a later date.
